Walking Boots

I spend a lot of time outside. Whether working, or walking the dogs, it’s always a pleasure to be out in the fresh air. Naturally, outdoor kit is an essential part of my set up. A good pair of walking boots is particularly important. One of my concerns when I began following a vegan lifestyle, was whether I would find suitable walking boots. I wanted boots which had good ankle support, strong grips, were waterproof, and also breathable. I needn’t have worried. Enter the Veggie Trekker Mk 5.

The boots remain as waterproof as when I first got them. The soles are wearing very well, as are the main bodies of the boots. The boots are breathable, so your feet stay dry (and the boots are safe to remove, even when in company). As well as allowing feet to breathe, the boots are padded inside keeping you warm and secure. They have clearly been crafted with great care and I expect them to last for many years longer. I do actually wear these boots everywhere when I’m out and about so they’ve covered a lot of miles over the last 24 months.

In terms of where to buy them, I always use Vegetarian-Shoes for footwear purchases. I like their range of practical styles and the fact that their women’s shoes go up to sensible sizes (most go to at least a size 8 UK and some designs go on into larger sizes).

The final picture is a typical day’s work for me, spending time with rescue animals at Goatacre Farm, a peaceful sanctuary where animals live their days safe from harm. As always, good boots are essential!
